Hi heading down to Akumal February 22-March 1 and wondering if anyone might be interested in splitting the cost to charter a crew. My girlfriend would like to join us but she won't be fishing. Let me know
Thanks,
Bryan

I wish I could join you, however I don't have a new ticker yet......I would suggest using Francisco as your captain. He is a great guy and knows the water very well. You can find him down by his boat where the fishermen hang out in front of the dive center, or simply ask around and you will be able to find him.......Not sure if rates are the same, but last year it was 3 hours for $150.00 USD plus a tip.........If you want to go out longer, there will be an additional charge for the hours.

Yes the rates are still$150 us for 3 hrs and $50us for each hour after. Please remember to tip the captain AND the mate. Francisco is a wonderful person. My hubby goes with him whenever he can! I have gone a few times also! You go to the same area as the big boats. Francisco knows his game!

Ive fished twice on a few different times down that area. This time I really want to try for sailfish, marlin or tuna. Last time it was only barricuda. Does Fransico do this type of fishing?

Would like to split fishing fee with others....dates are Jan 25 through the 5th. I want to send husband for his birthday, do not necessarily want to go myself. So $150 divided by 2 to 4 people. Can you show up by the boats and see if others are going or do you have to book in advance?

Yes, Francisco does fish for all of the fish you mentioned. Last year the first day out on his boat I caught a sailfish and a dorado. He has a wide spread and knows where to fish. It really depends on the time of year in terms of what fish you will catch. Francisco will put you on the fish whatever the season may be. Good luck and hope to see some pictures when you return.

I don't know if you have fished from a panga before but 2 people is great. 3 is good and 4 tends to be crowded. You also have the captain and mate. My hubby likes 2 max. We had 4 this last time and i just sat in the front taking pictures and soaking up sun. Just our opinion.

Hey Fishing Friends, I've been inundated at work so haven't been checking the boards as regularly. If you have PMed me or e-mailed me I will try to get back with you TODAY. I can definitely get you fixed up with Francisco and just set up a trip with my friend Pancho down in Punta Allen for some flats fishing.--Jim
