We decided to do something completely different for our 2012 vacation......Tony's sister Andrea joined us after not vacationing together since May of '09. Since then, she's been wintering in Merida for 2 to 3 months staying with her friend who owns a home in Merida. It was great to be together back in Mexico again! No Aventuras Akumal and no rental car. We did rent twice, once in PM, and once in Merida. Depended on bicycles, taxi's, colectivo's, ADO buses, and last but not least.....walking....especially in Merida! We rented a casa in PM, it suited us perfectly! Mostly we relaxed, enjoyed the restaurants, cooked and BBQ'ed at the casa. Took a day to visit Akumal Bay, Aventuras Akumal, and of course Tulum. Took a walk down to ABR to check on our palm tree we planted on the beach in front of the massage hut back in 2008. Happy to report, it's doing quite well! Stopped at Itour to visit Alma and Marco, all is good with them. They are such special friends!

We will definitely stay again at Casa Anita!

There are too many photos to put into 1 slide show, so our trip will be broken down into 3. Turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy!!

Really enjoyed and it looked like a great place. I would certainly stay there if the $$ was right!

Also loved the music and altho I kinda remembered...the artist escapes me. Not Stevie ray? Please do tell so I can get me some!

Great stuff!
Love seeing so many places that we have been to in Puerto Morelos.
How did you like the sandwiches from Salchichia?

You guessed right Twirls.........Stevie Ray Vaughan, song name......."Chitlins Con Carne" and I'll send you a PM about the rental.

Thanks Badger! We are liking PM more and more! Tony did try a sandwich the day he rented the car but I don't remember which one he tried but he said it was good! You can't beat the prices either.

Well, so far we've looked at each video three or four times....you all are having such a wonderful time and it's contagious! We stopped in Puerto Morelos for the first time on our last vacation and did a quick drive-around and knew we'd want to go back and explore someday. It looks beautiful and cozy.

Thank you so much for your lovely pictures (great eye) and especially for sharing your vacation with us!

Thanks. That was really fun and interesting. We will be spending our first two days and nights this trip in Puerto Morelos - the plane fares were better if we went down a couple days early. Your report made it seem like a good idea. Thanks again.
