We are hoping to get away for a week sometime in the next month or so, ideally finding a condo on Half Moon Bay. It could be somewhat last minute and a possible mid-week arrival. What are my chances finding a condo, there are two of us, and does the possible mid-week arrival cause a problem? Thanks in advance.

Well.... I would start here on Loco Gringo. This is the best lodging booking site for Akumal after all...

I would shoot them an email. LG is great and can most certainly help you out with your request.

Below is a link to all of the condos LG represents in Akumal. Good luck!

I agree, LG is the best around and we've booked a condo and villa through them before just never at the last minute. Just kind of curious on a general level if we could expect something to be available on say a week or 10 days notice.

My guess would be given a 24 hour notice that their
would be between a 99%-100% chance of lots and
lots of availibility.

Sounds very reassuring. Ahh, won't be long. Grilled chicken from the pueblo, snorkeling in the bay and lots of cold beer down at LBV.

Great tip..thanks! Will definately check it out. Years ago we had a local chef/cook come over and create a dinner for us..fantastic! Is this type of service still available?

Mike if you're looking for a cheap/nice place on HMB, you might check out Vista del Mar. We stayed in one of the studios, and it was great if you don't mind hoofing it if you don't have a car. LBV is right next door, as well as the corner store, and the price was definately right!

We used Daveed three times for our family of 12 during our stay last April. Great guy and he will provide excellent service. http://www.facebook.com/daveedchefservice

I'll second Gem's reco on Vista Del Mar. if you love LBV, go there. Seven Seas condos are beautiful, but more expensive. VDM are also easy walking distance to Akumal Bay to snorkel.

Hi Mike! There will most likely be good availability, but it will greatly depend on your dates. For example, if you end up wanting to come down over US President's week, that's a very busy week. Please feel free to contact us when you're ready and we're happy to send you available options for your vacation! reservations@locogringo.com

Was just at Vista Del Mar in December, was great! Price was decent too. Check it out. Beach and view are awesome and so close to La Buena Vida too! Perfect location!

Cheers!

Doug

I endorse VDM as a really good choice also. You can do a basic hotel room or a studio or a condo. Great staff and location and price.

For those that don't know, this travel forum is sponsored by Loco Gringo. Loco Gringo is also the #1 booking agency for the Mexican Riviera. Out of respect for them providing this great service, please do not mention other booking agencies or links to another company you may have booked thru. If you want to help the people asking, use the Private Message button Loco Gringo provides. It will let you send a message to the poster without the info showing up on this site that Loco Gringo's so graciously provide for us.

Thanks so much for all the help. Just booked a real cheap flight yesterday out of Detroit for Jan 28-Feb 4 and have sent off my preferred properties to locogringo. I don't think Vista Del Mar was on my original list but I'll definately look closer at that one.

Could not have been on your list as LG does not rep this property. EDIT: LG DOES REP THIS PROPERTY!

Mid week arrival will not pose a problem, happens all the time - there is an office where you check in - kinda mid parking lot.

I really like it tho and would stay there, nice place!

BINK!

Naties for bbq chicken in the pueblo
Lol Ha is good for Happy Hour but Cueva is best for Margaritas
