We have not been there in a while, but have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, both when on the bay, and now on 307. Is it still a "good quality food" place to enjoy?

We were there last March. The food was nothing special, and more expensive than most of the places in Akumal. I wouldn't bother going there again. It was pretty quiet, and the owner's daughter (I forget her name) came over and chatted with us for quite a while. The place is huge so the fact that we were one of two parties there that evening was perhaps somewhat telling. There's a resident siamese cat lounging around as well as a spider monkey in a diaper scampering among the trees, and they were entertaining.

Sad to hear about the food----we have had excellent meals there 3, maybe 4 times through the past few years....Not concerned about price as much quality! I enjoyed the surrounding, but like many of course, loved the bay location!

We were there last Feb 23 - a day after marguarite's BD. The food and Mango margs were excellente!!! After a really bad experience in PDC, we pretended that OyL was the birthday dinner and it was magnificent. Possibly a bit pricey, but not outrageous. Hope we can find out way back there this coming trip.

We went there a year ago. Mosquito's were pesky, but we had a great time Salsa dancing.

We go at least once every trip. Been 3 times in 2012 and always enjoyed our meals. I think the food is consistently very good, not spectacular or haute cuisine, and a little more expensive than you can get in Tulum. But we always enjoy our food. Very nice atmosphere and great service. The owner's name is Victoria I believe. We will go again sometime next week when we are down.

We eat dinner there once on most of our trips to the area. Our last visit there was the middle of last February. The food and drinks were above average albeit a bit pricey. Victoria (who now mananges and/or owns the restaurnate formerly run by her father) was present and pleasantly chatted us up as well.

The atmosphere is . . . well, different than it used to be. We came to love Oscar Y Lalos primarily because it had good food and drinks in an ideal setting when it was situated on the beach front. The newer location on the highway is certainly not the same. However, the restaurant is clean and attractive. At the new location we have always sat in the garden area behind the inside bar and seating area (which interior area I suspect does not get much use). It is a nice garden setting, but of course pales in comparision to being on the ocean shore.

All in all, four stars not five.

WE ate there twice last year (May) and had good meals both times. In fact we are going again in April and plan on eating there at least once.

We had lunch one day and dinner another. When I got a Margarita on the rocks it was good but didn't seem to have much kick to it, so when the waiter asked me I told him and without any hesitation he brought me a jigger of Don Julio tequila. Now that was special.

All meals we had was over the top. Generous portions and we ate outside in the jungle area. We enjoyed it very much.

Looking forward to our next meal there.
