Well..............here I am again. In a place I love and am blessed to be able to get to fairly frequently.....

My favourite view of all from the ABR Buffet. I had just arrived and sat down to have some lunch. I literally held my glass of wine up, looked at this view and said "cheers"...smiling like a cheshire cat....all by myself!

After lunch, I see Wilbert and bring him some containers of Motts Ceasar Rimmer...for Bloody Ceasars of course! They're should really be rimmed with this and not salt!

After lunch I wander down to the Moonrise.....I'm just so damned happy to be back, but it 'feels' different. Much different than Aug/Labor Day. It'e VERY quiet.;

Later, I wander down to Lolha to meet up with Sharon and Steve to bring them something they had ordered.....

The next morning, I'm (purposely) awake before sunrise...to get some beautiful photos!

The mornings are quite COOL...more cool than even in February, and I'm glad I have a jacket. I wait til about 8am before hitting the water for a snorkel. The water is like GLASS....much calmer than I've ever seen it - all week!!

At the end of my full Day 1, I sit on my porch, and have my favourite afternoon...........sparkling wine and a view!

This is my first stay in Bldg #5 and I LOVED my location. Close, but no one really knew I was sitting there. The only noise would be from the nightly entertainment, and that was over by 10pm.

I was in the Roo for 18 days. I didn't keep a journal, but you can rest assured that I snorkeled EVERY day...and saw EVERY sunrise (except when I moved over into Chan Chemuyil to stay with mi amiga 47Froggy!

More pics later!~

So, basically every day was; get up - take sunrise pics - have coffee - hit the beach...snorkel, lounge.....snorkel (kinda like lather, rinse, repeat). Met up with some new LG folks, spent time with them getting to know one another...did group snorkels, had lunch and a great time.

The 'real' angry bird!

Got up one morning - my typically early time, and the fog was in the bay. It got foggier before it cleared...no mind, it's still pretty!

Went to Xcacel Beach, and I walked the pathway to the cenote that's there. Note: do NOT go in bare feet, I did, wouldn't do that again! Very cool/creepy pathyway in....this is the beginning, from the beach

then this...

Will lead you to this;

mas.....later

I named this guy "Curly". Spazzy squidoo! lol

Beautiful trumpetfish

The beautiful big school of Tangs ..... so nice to watch!

Flamingo tongue

So nice to see these guys out further, in the coral, instead of in the sea grass surrounded by snorkel pods

Took LOTS of pics of my favourite parrotfish....!

You can actually see the skin wrinkle and his teeth exposed to munch the coral!

Early morning snorkel this yellow ray was up on top of the coral. First time I've seen that!

And HE was out looking for breakfast....

Let sleeping tortugas lie....

My buddy TT told me they tuck their flippers in so predators can't nip them while they're resting...makes sense, I'm gonna try it!

Mas later....

To Finns Up,

How long is the trail to the denote at Xcacel Beach? It looks a bit rough? Would a good pair of treking sandals make it?
We want to go to this beach area for a good part of one day...morning or afternoon better do you think?

Cheers,
Linda
PS Great photos.

Linda and Water Baby.....

First, yes, too far to walk from ABR!! and yes you could take the colectivo, and then walk in from the highway, it's not that far. They will ask you for a 'donation' to go in to the beach. Usually 20 pesos will cover it! It's just past the Chemuyil overpass (south)

Linda, it's an easy walk if you have flip flops on...I was BARE FOOT....ick...cause it got kinda wet on the rocks...and bare feet and cooties maybe. It's about 5-8 minute walk in and you can see the pathway from the parking area where the lifeguard stand is.

PS Great photos.

You can walk to Xcacel beach from the road it will cost you 2 bux per person to get in .....the cenote back there...you are better with trex shoes or water shoes....have done it in flip flops ....not good.....both are a good walk.

BINK!

Video of a stingray that was the size of a sombrero!! Pretty big, one of the biggest I've seen. I LOVE to watch them feeding...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4wXPU2RRYc

Video of the school of blue tang....I love swimming with them...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEMKn5AMUMI

I'm feeling a little 'blue' today...

Smiling!

Some trips I've found these parrotfish to be quite shy .... this trip, they were not. There was one in particular (that's crunching coral in one photo) who kept his eyes on me, and we were getting almost to a stand-off, when I decided to retreat! He was pretty big, and I've seen their teeth!

Mas later tater tots

I found all the parrot fish pretty shy, also, except one. He was intent on eating and didn't seem to bothered by my presense. I'm feeling blue-having a COLD spell here. No end in sight-looking at my own pics and others helps...
