We arrived in Cancun yesterday and stayed near the airport. Got our rental cars today and gassed up. (got ripped of 2x...hope we dont screw up again!) Drove down and loved the trip! Turned into Akumal, under the arch and immediately knew we had picked the right place. Our Villa is SPEC-freaking-tacular. Every room is gorgeous, the sound of the waves is sooo soothing.
We ate at La Buena Vida and it really is the good life. Delicious food and great service and fair prices. NO COMPLAINTS at all. (other than getting gas-screwed!)
We rented a golf cart to run around the neighborhood and tomorrow is gonna be GREAT.

the Pemax.... in cancun near the comfort inn and one in Puerto Aventuras south of the supermarket.....i think they are all corrupt....NEXT time i am going to tell tehm how m any pesos i want instead of filling it up. We will prevail!

Sorry for the ripoff, has happened to me a few times, you have to get out of the car (two or more is better) and do not take your eyes off the guy pumping the gas, make sure he resets it to zero, and like Fins Up said, ask for a specific amount rather than fill up). Also watch out for and try to avoid the Pemex on the west side of 307 near Tulum, these guys are notorious, the guys at the Pemex on the east side are fine. Have a wonderful trip

Last trip I only needed to fill up once and it was the station just outside of where Easyway is located by CUN airport. That one was more like a gas station at home.
