Can anyone tell me if you want to rent a golf cart for 1/2 day at the place by the Arch do you need any kind of documentation to do so? Like a drivers license / passport? Or do you just pay & rent it? Do they try & charge you anything for insurance costs as well? I thought I saw you could rent for 1/2 day for $20. Any idea what time they open in the monring? Thanks

The last time I rented one it was a $30.00 charge with a $50.00 deposit......we just gave them our room number at the hotel...

You need your drivers license...no charge for insurance ( guess they haven't been riding with Soleil Soul! ) You can rent for half a day....can't recall if it's $20 or $25. The whole process took about five minutes and it was great to drive to yal ku instead of cabbing it!

Enjoy,
Seagoat

HAHA - too funny

Cost is $20 per 4 hours - they keep another $20 as deposit in case you go over the 4 hrs - if not, they return it to you (if you remember to ASK!!!) in November they didn't ask for a DL but they know Soleil well

How early maybe 830-9 AM

Shifty likley has too pay more due to his off road excursions

There is a price difference depending on high and low season. DH had to have his room key when we stayed at the ABR, but not his DL. On somedays, we had a hard time finding the guy. We were told 9am, then 1 pm and "come back tomorrow". At one point, "she" even called him.

So, be patient...after all, it is Mexico!!

**I have never rented it online (or inadvance), as there is no way to indicate what date you need it for.**

Just rented from them for 4 days last week. Quick, easy, and no problem getting deposit back. 1st time we've gone the airport transfer/golf cart route and will never go back to renting a car at the airport.

All that was required in November was the $50.00 deposit and the payment for the days we were renting it for. No problem getting the deposit back the morning we returned it and he was there as promised.

Marcelo is very meticulous about his primitive but effective record-keeping. When you see where the deposit is kept you'll know what I mean. He's a great guy and is great to work with on the golf cart rental.

Yes, we did that. It does take a bit of coaxing ( and optimism ) to get over the "hump" in the middle, but we managed to get there and back in one piece!

As of Nov the boundary was Chomak area just outside the arch... if this has changed since then... please chime Goat...
What was explained by Marcelo is they needed additional licensing and insurance to get over the 307 which they do not have.

Don't recall being informed of that, so we went ahead and did it anyways! Baaaad goat!
Good thing we didn't run any roosters over!

It is my understanding you are not suppose to take the cart across the overpass.....not allowed at all.....I don't think it has changed and I would double check.....

WARNING , your choice whether you want to let the people in the back know about the dreaded and feared TOPE,S on the way to and back from the lagoon. they tend to sneak up on you realy fast especialy after you have had a few pops.

Be nice to the golf cart. They keep your deposit if you fail to heed the speed bumps and leave it sitting on the side of the road somewhere.

Is there a place to park these at ABR if you rent for more than a day?
