About $7,000 colones or approximately $14 USD

The total for both dinners and beer was about $15,000 Colones or $30 USD. Are you confused yet? LOL..

Status: offline 		I've read both installments and am really enjoying the story. I keep trying to picture ourselves where you are. We've stayed in West End, Roatan (not remote at all) and Castera, Tobago which sounds like it's similar to your experience but again, not as remote as I think you are. Enjoy your time. Always looking for further updates. Hope the rain eases up some for you.

The only airport you can fly into is San Jose. The trip to Puerto Viejo is really only about 4 1/2 hours but we encountered several "snafu's along the way due to downed trees.
