I love ya all, you guys rock !!!!!! We all stayed at the Iberostar resort in Cozumel and I found it to be my new favorite resort in Cozumel. The grounds are set up in a jungle type atmosphere with peacocks and iguanas all over the resort. The food at the buffet restaurants was your typical buffet food however we ate one night at the steakhouse and one night at the Mexican restaurant and found both to be outstanding. There were four bars at the resort, the lobby bar, a beach bar, a swim up bar and a bar in the pool restaurant. We spent most of our time hanging out on the beach right next to the beach bar, with banos right behind the bar, and facing the ocean and pier. We all had rooms real close to the beach and the dive shop which was located right next to the pier. I swear my room was less than 50 yards from the dive shop and pier. That was a big convenience for me because the boats came back to the pier between dives so if I needed anything or had to use the bano in my room it was a two-minute walk. I would take advantage of this often as sometimes I only took my camera on the second dive and occasionally I would have to use the bano because I promised mother nature I wouldn't pee in her ocean. LOL........ BTW, we both kept our promise, I didn't pee in her ocean and the Norte that was hangin' out the week before we arrived blew over before we got there. Wooo Hooo !!! The diving was some of the best I have experienced in the 20 years I've been diving. The visibility was 100+ feet and the seas were always flat. Besides all the normal things we see we were fortunate to see two black tip sharks along with several nurse sharks. On one of our dives while on Punta Sur reef we saw 12 eagle rays which is unheard of. At one point there were five of them hovering right over our heads within 10 feet. It was an incredible sight to see. When we returned to the boat the dive master told us the reason they were hanging right over our heads was that our bubbles tickled their tummys. I'm sorry I don't know how to post pictures but Noel (Morning Dive) has some great pictures of the eagle rays that I'm hoping either he or Jane will post on here. I shot a lot of video that I burned to DVD and mailed to everyone and maybe someone can figure out how to downsize and post. On one of the snorkel boat excursions they got to see a pod of dolphins swimming with the boat. Nipper has some pictures of this that I'm sure she will be posting here shortly. Hopefully all the others that were on the trip will be posting their pictures on this thread also. We all agreed to come back to the Iberostar next year for "CAFB 2013". We would welcome anyone who would like to join us for some great diving and snorkeling and wonderful camaraderie. Peace, Bimmy EDIT....Calling everyone else from the trip to jump in on this thread and post pics and give a report.

Glad you finally experienced why I usually spend my December's in Cozumel (and like to go down over the winter/early spring too) Great weather and phenomenal diving! I've been hearing about, and seeing photos for the last 2 wks of the Eagle Ray squadrons from on-island friends. The sandy, deep areas off the wall at Punta Sur Sur are one of the best spots to see then down south in the early part of the season. The ultimate eagle ray dives are January to early Feb up north. (Go with a smaller operator who doesn't charge extra for those dives... they'll only go though if they've got a group of experienced divers as these sites are deep walls and strip reefs with stronger current and can be a little unpredictable) Hopefully I'll be around next year to hook up for a couple dives. I've really been missing not having a "December to Remember" this year. HATE the cold NE and all the holiday huppla... although I do love the holiday decorations and music in Mexico, go figure. Did you guys get off the resort and around the island at all?
