Has anyone stayed at Dreams in P.A.? we are going to a wedding in june and wondered wht the snorkeling might be like. We always go to Akumal and stay and spend all our time (well, most of it) snorkeling. The bay looks shallow like Half Moon bay, from the webcam. any comments?

A couple years ago I was there, and while the snorkeling is not on par with Akumal, I found it a bit different and satisfying enough for the week we were there.

I have stayed at the resort next to dreams & also the condos on the other side of the Marina on that bay. Snorkeling out from dreams is so so at best. especially when compared to Akumal. However if you walk over to the Marina & then to the Omni & out to the bay from there & go out to whre the water breaks there is better snorkeling in this area IMO than the bay by dreams. We always make a few day trips to Akumal for the best though.

I agree with coralfan50.  Haven't stayed there in years but you used to have to walk thru the Omni hotel's open lobby to get to the beach.  I think they have a swim up bar there now but do not know if it is for public use or just for people staying at the Omni.  It's not the best snorkelling but it beats the bay by a long shot IMO.
