I feel so guilty this trip I never wrote in my Diary once.. this is just so wrong! Right? I never miss writing in it. I realize in the past I neglected to finish trip reports.. guilty as charged. Never did finish my Italian blog TR.. one day I will. Life interrupts ! the pics take foreverrrrrrrrr to upload to Blogger hence my annoyance on that one.

So from my tiny memory banks.... this should be interesting or boring.. guess however you read it.
Got a smoking deal from West jet – as in, never ever have I paid so little for flight. Off we went on a Red Eye from Cowtown to Cancun – our flight was delayed in Calgary as we had to wait for another flight that was carrying Edmontonians.. lets just say we had to wait an hour in our seats for these reh-tards to get off their plane – find their luggage and put it all on our plane. No body was impressed on ours, it turns out it was all part of a wedding party going down to Cancun. So 5.5 hours turned into 6.5 hours. this is what we left behind

Arrived in Cancun Red Eyed at 6 turdy a.m. – we all slept a bit with whiplash inspired dreams, as our heads tried to stay upright while sleeping – never ever is this an easy task unless you have Pod seats or one of them neck pillow thingys .. Just saying! Anywho… whats this??? Someone for the first time in the last 10 years of arriving in CUN Airport welcomed me to Mexico.. wowee!!… down the hallway.. then down the stairs in Terminal 2 we went, being in the 4th row on the plane has advantages.. walked into the Customs room… and Yup… not a soul.!!
I was shocked.. just our plane has arrived.. three customs agents zip us through, we grab our bags that are already spinning around the carousel and push the fun button after being xrayed “Green for Go”! and tada.. out in the Cancun Air, where our Cancun Transfers pickup service awaits us.
So early in the morning – no traffic on the road to Aventuras Akumal – 1 hour trip instead of the normal traffic trip of 1.5 hours or more. Hmm I am starting to see a trend here. Early is good.
Big Hugs all around from our Caretakers at the Casa Sombra – I adore them so much, they are family … We topes our suitcases up the pebble pathway, drag em inside the Casa to our rooms – I pull out my bathing suit and wrap – head down to the kitchen and grab a cold one from the fridge.. Its 8:30 in the am… I feel terribly guilty I wasn’t drinking by 7  There is no place like home, no place like home.
Soooo… the rest of the trip was pretty typical days, of Baileys and coffee, Cerveza , margaritas and excessive tanning. Just wouldn’t be the same if we went off schedule.

Pretty Much everyday of my 15 days was spent preparing food, and cooking, the man also helped of course. It wasn’t the most relaxing trip cooking for 5 people. I know I know.. sometimes things should just be left unsaid and be quiet as a mouse – but its in my nature to whine and complain LOL and yes I know.. i did it to myself allowing it all to happen. Tis weird I am used to my group lending a hand.. another reason why I like Casa vs AI - Can eat and drink when I want

I am in love with the inventor of the ipod and earbuds - its amazing how much you can shut out for 15 days when you Move your beach chair to the end of the property line so you cant hear chit and insert the ear buds

will post more and add pics latah

First View of the trip - sorry for the scary white legs - wear sunglasses

Nice report so far, thanks Sorry you ended up doing all that cooking, the least your fellow travelers could have done was buy dinner for you and your hubby one night if they did not want to cook! Hopefully they at least paid for their share of the groceries.

You are NOT cranky! I understand completely.
We went on a sailing trip a couple of years ago and one of the guys complained about eating out all the time. (we had breakfast and most lunches aboard) I cooked dinner 2 nights out of the 7 and I didn't see him working out a dinner menu once. We even went to a small market with lots of provisions - chicken, lamb, beef etc and we had charcoal for the bar-b-que so it would have been easy for he and his girlfriend to whip something up without too much effort. Kinda put a (very tiny) damper on the trip - I was fine with going to restaraunts every night - I was on vacation after all but I didn't like listening to him whine about how much it was costing to eat.
Guess you know who you won't be inviting along next time?

Barata~ sailing trip and whining about eating out equals fishing with your guests as bait!!
I would have been ticked off if i had to go thru that Gato. Noodlelady said you were down the beach from us, I never made it down to meet you. Should have sent your guests down to be bait also!! I HATE LAZY PEOPLE!

November 11th came and I was thinking wow, I haven’t done nothing at all this trip exciting.. how weird. Then I went on LG and saw someone post.. “see you tomorrow” Once again Ole age kicked in with my Sometimers and I almost completely forgot the November 12th Party I initiated. Jeez Louise can I get a brain for 5$ bucks somewhere?? Me and My people #2, 3, 4 and 5 as they called themselves arrived at the Lol Ha – and gathered the tables for 26 persona and I believe we had a turn out of 32!
So many wonderful people to chat with from LG – I of course chose tables out from under the roof… it was very nice and calm.. then it got a bit dark… umm was that a rain drop I felt? Hmmm nah.. oh no was that another? .. we all looked at each other looked up … and just like that – the dang sky opened up and drenched us all. We ran for cover and found more tables under the roof .. poor waiters had to scramble to find us. Lots of pictures were taken.. would love to see them , feel free to post em here if you like
Some people in attendance were Noodle Lady and Mr Noodle  Neilalex, Seagoat, Scubabum, Sharoon, Pinkscallop, Barata, Snowgoddess, Juan rojo, Chris&Cindy…. Who did I miss.. there were so many of you! The rain put a damper on the party as a lot of you disappeared lol Brats! So we decided to depart as well. Had to ask for a taxi via Lady at the bar.. Note to self to remember this for next time as there is rarely a taxi at the arch when we are ready to leave.

Miss Kitty was there at the event as well... She follows me everywhere

As was Me and the main Man

Next few days of course were mimicking NFA (nothing and F All) as previously noted above, did manage to make a run into Tulum for groceries.. cha ching! Is it just me or has groceries gone up again?
One reason why I go to Mex in November is so I am not at home in the cold freezing my backside off on my Name day (as they say in game of thrones) Birthday! My people 2, 3 and 4 and 5 asked where would I like to go… I said Duhhhh… Don Cafetos! Yum yum yummy.. I do love eating there with all the locals, we arrived around 5 prior to the madness of overpopulation.. fyi – during the week is less busy.. weekends super busy. Didn’t stick around very long.. more of a dine and dash but paid la bill… and went to the tequilaria down the street, and proceeded to window shop through some stores.
Found a sink I loved… didn’t buy it.. kickin myself for it.. again!!
Spent the rest of the evening at the Casa outside covered in Mosquito spray and blankets to keep away the biters. Those no seeums are fierce this year cause they certainly are not skeeters. Can you say sand fleas??
The next day we collectivo’d to the Akumal drop off to take the newbies in for some local shopping. Ya ya okay .. I wanted to buy something too!! Told the newbies 4 & 5 to meet us at Cueva for a snack after 1.5 hours. So I gots me a new Cat suit for swimming and Sunbeams while the man waited outside the store, then we took a 2 second walk to Cueva where I felt the need for Fries.. so me and Darwood shared some chicken nuggies and fritas. I looked over at this other table and tapped this lady on the shoulder.. Ummm excuse me but I see your sporting an LG cooler on your chair.. whats your handle on LG .. k im really really sorry but for the life of me I can’t recal the first ladies name.. But the other lady was Soliel Sol -- then it just got silly. SS gave me such a treasure that day – my very own red clown nose along with my travelling newbie number 4 and 5
We had so much fun that afternoon with those noses I tell ya.. Everyone was smiling and laughing at our new style.. Thank you so much SS for making everyone elses day brighter by me making an A** of myself in the most natural way possible HAHAHA. I am taking that nose on tour !

Dont ask me what happened on my iphone making the images all weirdly lol who knows what happens in mexico hehe

Yup I am the dork in the middle

The LG cocktail hour at Lol Ha was great! Going inside because of the rain made me move around a bit and get to chat to more folks. Good planning Gato!
I've got a couple of noses too and be warned I'm planning on using them! Might have been Finsup you met with SoSo - did you notice if she had stunning blue eyes???
Thanks again for organizing the do - even if you did almost miss it yourself

Gracias for the report, Ms. Gato.

As head cooker for our condo I can relate. Of course, it's not that hard for me to fry up a couple hevos in the morning for my chica.

Great report Gato... The other lady with me at Pescadors was GmaDeb, great lady and lots of fun!

Now just to straighten Maggie out about the red noses... ehem. Hate rumours!!
The very first LG clown nose initiation was in Nov of 2011 on Isla Mujeres with a group of LocoGringos... Wifey, Bub, Heathw, Anniefrog, VSD and Ladybugg while we toured the island on golf carts. Kay then followed up with her clown gig in Guatemala and Maggie... YOU followed.... baaaa!

Pretty well everyone that has a red foam clown nose has met me :) and shared a good laugh.♥
You are a fun gal Gato, glad I had a chance to meet you.

Soo what else did we do - we snorkelled a bit, not as much as we usually do. I was pretty happy about just being a veggie in my chair and waiting for someone to come along with a spatula and flip me over when I was done.
When we were snorkelling around in front of the Oasis - this couple were completely barefoot in the water and he was about to step on one of them Urchins, I asked if they spoke english - yes with an italian accent. I noted to them about the sea urchins and told them to perhaps purchase some water shoes and or don’t come out this far, if you can see the reef when you look down you are getting very close to sea life that will say hello eventually.

Darwood had bought the most fantastic Frisbee for this trip – a dog Frisbee that floats. We used this a lot in the water and on the beach. There was 4 of us in the water one day, there wasn’t a breeze at all and the water was like glass… trying to be children and see how long we can keep the catch game going. I was about done after half an hour of this and as I turned to go and one of the largest Eagle Rays I have ever seen swam right in the middle of our little game. Holy Carp… ! From our beach chairs wearing the anti glare sunglasses, you can see him swim by now and again.. super cool.

Another extraordinary event happened one morning as I had posted on another thread on the edge.
I had just got up to make coffee (very early) when i saw a man (not wearing Cea shirt). Diggin in the nest at the house beside us with his stick, he tossed aside the nest markers then he started to dig with his hands and I asked him who he was and he pretended not to understand me. He was putting a plastic bag in his backpack putting tortugas inside.. I ran in the casa and woke everyone up pounding on bedroom doors, “you have two minutes to see baby turtles!” . Everyone sleepy eyed and out of it were right there with me as this man gave up putting them in his backpack and let the rest go... the babies waddled towards the sun that was just coming up. He didnt put anymore in his bag after all of us were there.. He kept on saying Bahai.

It was truly fantastic to watch them swim in with the tide... Their little flipper prints in the wet sand.. Took lots o pics ... I love it here, the circle of life never ending For those of you not having experienced Mama Tortugas or the babies.. Mamas can be seen very late at night between 11pm - 4 am. Times and months vary on different beaches as per Tortuga Toms Turtle thread. Babies of course are unscheduled, I have seen them twice now hatching – once very late in the evening and now very early in the morning, I think IF this “supposed” turtle ecco man hadn’t have pulled them out – they would have popped out around 9 am when the sun was full bore and would be easy pickins for the birds. I was happy all my people were there to make a small hallway of humans to allow them an easy passage into the water without them dang birds eating them. As we watched their heads come out of the water taking a breath, I did not notice any birds around hovering over the water. Too early for them I suppose?
One thing we did do at the end of the day before the sun went down completely, we stacked our beach loungers off of the sand to allow mommies to come and lay their eggs. I wasn’t a night owl this go around, but in the mornings we did see a few new nest markers. We did miss baby tortugas hatching one morning as there was a huge hole in the sand, so I am assuming mr ecco man was there scooping them up again.

Please ignore the fact I am holding a baby without gloves on.... my bad but mr so called Ecco guy wasnt either!!
And ummm dont look at my wrinkles! horrible .. was considering editing but I ran out of super duper wrinkle diffuser! Ha!

Yup this was November and I was told it is unusual for them to be nesting at this time, but they do .. how cool.
