Hi there,

We're planning our trip next year to Soliman Bay, and are looking at several options for villas there. Our primary choice, Margarita Villa, is unavailable at the time that we're looking at, so our back up options are either Villa Maya Jardin, Villa Iguana or Casa Mar Caribe. Here are my thoughts/concerns in no particular order:
- Villa Maya Jardin is on the south end of the bay...great for Chamico's, but bad for snorkeling. Right? We're avid snorkelers, so hoofing it all the way to the north end each time seems like it could be a pain. Also, is it in good shape? When we were there in March, and we walked by it from the beach, it really didn't look that impressive. Anyone have any recent experiences they could share?
- Villa Iguana looks very nice, but we are in need of 5 beds, and the 5th bed is in the casita, which no one will want (since it doesn't have the ocean view and is separate from the main house). Does anyone have any decent pictures from the casita? I'm looking for pics of the bathroom and what the view is from the windows, in particular. Or is there a 5th bed in the main house that I'm not seeing?
- Casa Mar Caribe seems like it might work, but was wondering how it works as a villa in totality. Anyone have a floor plan to look at? The reason I ask is that if meals are served in the dining room, does someone in the other side of the "duplex" have to leave their duplex to get to the kitchen/dining room, or is there a way to get to the dining room without leaving the building? Does that make any sense at all?

Thanks in advance for your help. I appreciate it!!

We had 12 people at Villa Iguana. It was wonderful.
One thing you should remember is....just my opinion ....nobody should stay at a place because of the view from the bedroom. 95% of the time you're going to be outside. The pool and other outside seating areas at Iguana are great.
I'm sure if I asked any of the 12 of us that went, if they could go back, but they had to stay in the casita, none of them would say no.

I haven't stayed at any of them but I'm wondering . . .
Who would have to stay in the room without the view?

I can understand that if everyone is paying an equal portion, everyone should get the same type of room. It's fair and then no one is complaining.
Would they make a deal that they don't have to cook or clean?
Or maybe just draw straws and the shortest gets the fifth bedroom?

Or maybe someone wants to be away from everyone else!

Just my 2 cents
