Yesterday , I walked to the Ado bus station in Playa Del Carmen to get some fruit and tacos from the food carts that have been there for years . There were none to be found . A fella pointed me to a park just up Juarez where there were some food carts but mostly variations of pork tacos and no frutas . A cab driver I asked on my way back said to blame the mayor for this foolishness . I hope he was wrong or misinformed or it is a seasonal shut down but I fear it is not . It wasn't too hard to find some other trunk food and fresh juice from a bicycle vendor but those carts were landmarks .
