We spoke with Bart when we were there last week - it seems like he said something about needing a permit or license or something, not sure exactly what the deal was but it may hold up the opening, not sure. If anyone can clarify that would be great!

I'm thinking that since Tulum took over jurisdiction a few years ago things aren't as casual as they used to be. Bart is obviously pretty good at dealing with things like this. Since it is actually a dairy manufacturing operation they might be clamping down. Good luck. The lack of current licensing came into play when we were trying to buy Lucy's a couple of years ago.

At least I heard that the ice cream is available at Turtle Bay Cafe, I fear it will not be open when we go.

There is also that coffee place and internet cafe between Loquito's and Lol-Ha, I had some great coconut ice cream last year there with dark chocolate shavings.

I agree! Every year we can't wait to eat Lucy's shrimp tacos. Our favorite! I hope Bart and Jen find a way to keep Lucy's open or include them at Turtle Bay! There are many loyal foodies out there!

Options La Floresta in Pdc . El oasis just before La Floresta , take the Costituientes exit and service lanes , southbound after Juarez , watch closely . Paco Taco in Puerto Aventuras , northbound service road , under the bridge like a troll , beside Pemex , in a modern strip mall , sounds bad tastes good , no mango salsa but good toppings labeled for heat value . Abuela cart goodness in a nice clean setting . I've been spanglishing recommendations for similar tempura batter tacos from every local I see but no luck so far . Ice cream shmice cream . WE WANT OUR TACOS !
