Which one is preferred?
Playa Blanca has a ground floor one. How does that compare as well? Does Playa Blanca have a pool? And how is it? Playa Caribe's pool is tiny, isn't it?
Thanks,
Barb

We've actually stayed at both of them. Our very first trip to Akumal we were in Casita at Playa Caribe, can't remember the name, but as you look at the bulidng from the street, the one furthest to the left. We loved it there, and fell in love with Akumal.
We really, really loved the Playa Blanca casita- the most obvious difference was you actually have an ocean view and sidewalk right to the beach, where at PC you have to walk around the building, and you are basically in a basement with very small windows only in the bathroom and entry door.
The cooking set up at PC is better, with an actuall stove top and full size fridge, where PB just has an electric hot plate for cooking, and it does have a toaster oven and microwave as I remember. They are both very close on the beach, so beach wise, view of the turtles popping up their heads etc. are about the same. PB does not have a pool, the pool at PC is small but very nice.
Hope this helps, I would say either way you decide, they are both a tremendous, almost unbelievable value, and you will have a great time either way!

I'd go with PC just because of the pool. PB has no pool.

We stayed at Playa Blanca in the ground floor casita last year and loved it. There was no pool, but the outdoor shower to rinse of is right on the way back to the casita, and the view from the room is nice. Bed was comfy, kitchen had all that is needed, and the staff are very attentive. It would have been nice to have a pool, but we really didn't miss it.

The view from PB and the windows are a definite plus. But we picked PC because of the pool and R/O water you can drink from the tap. We went for two weeks. I used the pool every day. When it was too rough to swim and I got hot I could cool down in the pool and hang over the edge looking out at the water. We figured it this way...Will we spend more time inside or outside? The PC casitas are 18 steps to the water and pool/patio so we had our meals out there and morning coffee. I often fell asleep floating on the air mattress in the pool. We are going back next spring and I know now that a pool is a priority for me on HMB . There is also a shower on the way back to the building.

We have stayed in both casitas at Playa Blanca (upstairs and downstairs). We haven't stayed at PC casita but when we stayed at one of the condos at PC last month I peaked in one of the casitas. It was nice and looked to be nicely equiped. You have no view and very few windows so it seemed kind of dark compared to Playa Blanca casitas. The pool at PC is very nice.

Playa Blanca casitas are very light and bright . They are equiped really well, although there is no stove but they do have a microwave, toster oven and hot plate. And with PB you do have a nice view of the ocean even thought the building is set back close to the road. And there is no pool.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any ot them. You're in Akumal!!

We've stayed in the Playa Blanca casitas multiple times, we really liked all of the windows you can open to catch the ocean breeze and the downstairs casita has a small patio area w/table just outside the double doors. Great place to have your morning coffee with a view of the ocean.
We had friends who stayed in the PC casitas and they didn't like the lack of windows/breeze.

We always spend some time at PC Casitas. Going back for a few weeks in Feb. If you want a view, go outside.
The casitas are everything we need and more and are priced right. We cook about half our own meals so the kitchen is a big plus. Besides the food truck stops across the street for lunch every day at 1 pm. Can't beat it.
