Hi there - my husband and I are taking a delayed honeymoon to CRT this year and were wondering if there is a swim-up bar? Also, is there good snorkeling off of the resort? And lastly, has anyone stayed in the new deluxe rooms?

Thanks!

There is NO swim up bar at CRT. The pool bar is about 15 steps away from the pool.
Snorkling is ok at CRT, you can walk South from the resort and swim around the old pier at the abandoned resort. You can also swim or take a boat out to the reef in front of CRT. Distance is a few hundred yards.
Haven't been in the "new" rooms yet.
When are you planning to go??
Have a great time.

If conditions are good, it's not a bad swim out to a really nice reef. Swim directly out from the Life guard stand to locate it, it is quite a ways out. Better yet, just wait until the catamaran comes and drops off all the snorkelers, then swim out to where they are and there is the reef. Some decent snorkeling as mentioned down at the far south end by an abandoned pier, there is an abandoned resort there as well. Also, on the way down, there is pretty decent snorkeling right in front & a bit south of the beach restaurant. The beach restaurant/bar has a band on weekends which is fun. Hope this helps.

Oh, a fun thing to do at the CRT is go to the tapas restaurant/bar (outside beautiful setting) for cocktails and tapas, even if you eat at a different restaurant later. Fun to sit at the bar and order things.

If you walk out to the beach in front of CRT....and start walking south.. ....towards the cute bar/club down the beach....there is a beautiful reef there for snorkeling...and not far from shore.  Sighted a spotted Eagle Ray there as well.   Enjoy!

or if it gets to windy, try my fav. snorkel tourĀ  in some protected bays

Take a taxi /colectivo to Akumal

By the white arches, rent a golf cart for 4 hrs ($20)

get directions and head to Yal-Ku lagoon for snorkelling $11us (in the morning between 830 - 11 am )

motor back to La Beuna Vida (LBV ) for lunch / refreshments - walk the beach - snorkel in Half Moon Bay if calm - see all the coatis come out by LBV

head back to Akumal for more snorkeling / food / refreshments - hire a snorkel guide from the dive shop if you want to find the best with limited time

Its a great resort, as mentioned before a fun place to visit is the beach bar next to the CRT, just head to the beach and take a right down the beach not very far.......good food and cold beer and beautiful views!
