I heard that they are no longer located in the palapa on the beach and that they have moved to a new location near the arches?  Can anyone confirm this?  I so loved the ocean sounds and breezes in the original location, will really miss that!

Cheers,
Seagoat

As long as Juan is still with them, I don't care. . . . closer to the taxis to go back to the room and collapse. No trip to Akumal is complete without a massage from Juan. All that splashing around in the water using muscles not needed in Minnesota in this old body needs some help.

ABR massage hut is even closer - feet from the water - non ABR guests can likely use it

Can you be more specific - Mexicarte(the pink gift shop) is kinda stand alone - then there is the building at the arches that houses the offices of HAC and the Villas Maya Bungalows - do you mean that building?

I have had wonderful massages and salt scrubs at Budda but half the ambiance is the rustic hut and the open breeze and the sound of the ocean. I can get a massage in any old building here anytime.

Planning to get another great massage there again this year. So nice to be right on the beach.

Me too...their lavender and cucumber body wrap is amazing!  It won't be the same without the beach location.  I had a massage at the ABR hut....sorry but no comparison to Budha.  I'm hoping Ruby is still with Budha..she is wonderful!

Halness, do you know why they relocated?  Is the palapa where they were before now sitting empty?  A shame really?

Had a massage at their new location a week ago today.  It is really nice, although it is not on the beach.  Literally they have a desk right to the left of Mexi Arte.  Ruby was still there, and it was wonderful.  Planning to get another in October when I am there.

Juan has to be there... he owns the place along with his wife! Rubi is still there. If you're facing Mexicarte (the pink gift shop), it's on the left inside some of the bungalows. Lorinda and Juan have done a great job converting the bungalows into the new spa! Check it out when you're in town!

Ruby is the best! She was still there in May. If you look up Buddha Gardens website, a lot of their description and tease to get you there is the fact that they are right on the beach. They will have to re do that! Let's all get online and send them an email telling them we are disappointed that they moved away from the beach!!!
I loved laying there with a slight ocean breeze (gone), being able to look up and see the water (gone) and of course listening to the surf (gone) as I got my massage. You are so right! I can get a message in a building anywhere!

I have to agree with others that the beach location was a very important part of the Buddha Gardens massage experience. I wish them all the best but it's just not as appealing off the beach.

What is happening at their previous location on the beach? Any plans for that space?

I had a 90 minute massage there with Rubi in May - it was FABULOUS! Juan told me they only had a week left in that location - I was sad to hear that because that was such a relaxing spot! Sounds like the new spot is also good - as long as the waves can still be heard - haha! I'll look forward to trying it on my next weekend getaway from the island to Akumal!

Okay, so I would have a massage from Juan in a barn. The beach added, but definitely it has to be Juan. I will be there with a friend in October and we are planning on this.

Also a bit bummed about this as I love getting a massage in the nice shady breezy room with the sound of the ocean in the back. I was planning to take my girls for one during our Christmas New Years trip. Oh well I guess we could do the new location.

I am DEVASTATED! The Buddha Gardens IS the ocean and breezes, and strolling down the beach for your massage experience... I LOVE Ruby and Juan and Manuela, but the location was so instrumental to the whole experience. I am SO sad!

Agree with VSD - ABR massage hut is closer to the water than Buddha Gardens. I loved my massages there the last couple years.

Come on now, even if I can use the ABR massage hut as a non-ABR guest, that certainly doesn't make up for all the lovely experiences and my relationships with the Buddha Gardens people! I'm SO attached to the Buddha Gardens experience and people. I've been going to the Buddha Gardens for years! I know them all personally! I know their dog and cat! It's part of my whole Akumal experience! I stay at the HCAC or Las Casitas so I'm right there on the beach with the Buddha Gardens. I LOVE them and their location and the experience. It's REALLY SAD for me. Just saying that I can go to the ABR and it's "even CLOSER to the water", is not the same thing for me at all. I'm really sad... Buddha Gardens in "town", not the same.

@ BlueBeachLady ~ I completely agree. This news is devastating to both me and my sister. I sent Buddha Bardens an email telling them how disappointed I was but I haven't heard back yet. Getting a massage (or possibly 2) at Buddha Gardens was such a special vacation treat. We also stay at Las Casitas most of the time so walking all the way down to ABR is not very appealing. I wonder why they moved?

not a problem - was just giving those an option that there is still a  great massage place that is right on the beach / even closer

After 12 wonderful years Budha Garden Spa has relocated. We are still steps away from the waters edge.
We are also sad to see the view go, but very excited for the new place. We will have more to offer at this new location. Full spa day with lunch or dinner, happy hour pedicures, meditation classes in the gardens, ect.. We have located to the bungalows, where we are converting into a tranquil gardens and spa. The new reception is located by the arches next to the Mayan statue and Mexiarte gift shop.
The BGS team, Juan, Ruby, Manuela and Lorinda are dedicated to our clients and to our healing work.
Outcalls are also available for treatments in your rental condo or casa. We are working on the new website, budhagardenspa.com which will be up soon. If you have any questions please feel free to write to me. of join us on facebook.
My new email address is budhagardenspa@gmail.com or cell.# 984.745.4942
Budha Garden Spa appreciates all the love and support from the last 12 years, and looking forward to see everyone again in the new location for the years to come. check back later, we will be posting pictures soon, thank you, Lorinda
