I have read in the past of folks spotting octopi at dusk or early evening among the rocks in shallow water. If you want to snorkel at dusk or early evening, won't you need a waterproof flashlight? Where do you get one inexpensive?

Generally, underwater lights are not inexpensive. The good ones are sold mainly for scuba diving in caves, cenotes, and night diving. Search Amazon, or the internet for scuba lights.

Leisurepro.com has pretty good prices on dive and snorkel gear. They have several regular sized flashlight options for $25 and under.

Check with the dive shops and CEA when you get down, but usually night snorkeling and night dives, I believe, are discouraged during turtle season.

Good lights aren't cheap. You can get lights starting around $15, or you can check with the dive shops and rent a better quality one usually for around $10/day. http://www.leisurepro.com/Cat/Context_965/Lights/972.html#!1

Pelican makes a good range of underwater lites. Have used them for many years for scuba diving. Check the internet/dive shops.
