Hi guys,
I don't make it over here much. We own a little condo in Tulum, so I don't get the relaxing resort experience. :( My son is almost 5 and we were considering just spending a day at a resort for fun. The Barcelo Maya water park/pool looks terrific. Does anyone know what a day pass costs? I am completely unfamiliar with the resort (other than the awful thing that happened several years ago.) also, what does a day pass include?

Lastly, if anyone knows of a good or better pool for kiddos I would love to hear about it.

Google says (last year)

the cost was $77US per adult and $39US per child under 12

Hey Stacie,

Hola! As an alternative you could take them to LBV and while you hang out and order your refreshments snacks from LBV they could use the little dive shop pool.

Seems like your little guy might like it because it is not that big and all. Or is it to small and low tech? I am no expert in 5 year olds!

Crunch~He loves the water and almost knows how to swim. He thinks he knows how, but he hasn't quite gotten it together. He needs to remember to kick when he can't touch! I was just looking to do something we don't usually do. We are creatures of habit and tend to go to the same places to swim and hang out. I'm not sure I want to pay 200 for a day, probably something I should save for when I am traveling with him alone and need to wear him out. Maybe we will check out LBV. With any luck I could get a massage while he swims with daddy. :)
