I have skymiles and will need to book early to get choice dates and times for air fare.  Already its changing weekly as to whats available at ? # of miles.

So what dates are being speculated by who?  I could book today and get my best flight times 4/30-5-14.  Or go late and miss AASB and book with the late crowd 5/14 - the 27th.

The last week of April  / 1st week May will likely be the choice

Likely Apr 28 - May 4th are the premium

Cammie has informed me she will need my help on Mothers day at her florist shop so we may go after that.

Thanks for starting this! We can't do anything until Dec anyway - but will be the end of April or the 1st week in May, but also threw that week after mother's day out there too. Cinco falls on a Sunday this year...........decisions decisions!!

Well, back in the early days of AASB, 2007 and 2008, AASB was based on the New Hampshire April Vacation week because that was the only week that SolGirl/Donna had off.
Then in 2011, I think it was, Easter was late so many people decided to extend AASB into May because of the higher costs around Easter that year.
This year, NH April vacation week is the last full week of April (4/20 - 27). So, in theory, that should be the official date for AASB this year.
However, since SolGirl/Donna retired this year, we are no longer limited to that week.
As VSD suggests, I think that the week of 4/27 to 5/4 will probably be the prime week with many people getting it warmed up the week before and some extending into the first full week of May to include Cinco de Mayo.
Personally, I think that we will extend for more than a week in 2013, but will center around the 4/27 to 5/4 week
I did a quick check of rates for air and rooms a few days ago and I didn't see where there was any big price break as of May 1 next year. Of course that can change at any time.

So at this point let's say that the official AASB2013 week is 4/27 to 5/4.
What does everybody else think?

.

A few of us will be foregoing the fun of the official AASB.  Bernie and I booked the 14th of May till?  I'm pretty sure Sherry and Tom will be down around the same time. Cammie is planning for after Mothers Day also, since she is a florist.  We may have some other destinations in mind than just Akumal.  Tossing around Isla, Laguna Bacalar...??

Sorry to miss the fun but something different sounds good for a change.

If we are still an item, our plans will be wildly different next year. We've spoke of bringing the girls and getting a condo on HMB. We'll see how it shakes out.

Yes I know.  She suggested we wait till after AASB cause of her Mother's day ordeal at work.   I will ALWAYS be there for any BIG event in which SHE is involved!

We are planning on three weeks this year on HMB again ...likely the last two weeks of April and first week of May. I think we will be able to fit in all the beach crawls that way.

Yes it is, BUT as soon as I come back from "Cozumel Adult Fall Break" I'll get on board because I'll be there for sure again
Peace, Bimmy

I like Beg. of May. But I'm open to what you all decide. This chica likes to wait and book around Jan or feb. I don't have miles so I don't have to book early. Now if you would like to share some.. I'm sure I could book early.lol :)

If I am so lucky to be able to go this year we will be there April 27-May 4 give or take a day. The plan is that if my oldest daughter looks like she will actually graduate this year, this will be her graduation present and we will be bringing both my girls (then 18 and 15) as well as a posse of old and new friends.

These days I can't say anything with any certainty about anything in my life...but this is my hope for our travel plans to Mexico this year.

We are in and planning two weeks for 2013.  Bringing Keys Addiction and her DH; plus possibly another couple ( Loco virgins).  my DH wants to do Isla Mujeres again since we only stayed two nights this past spring.  The food; the prices; the people are amazing there.

Hey y'all! Psst. 70s disco party one night this year! No more chickens. Let's get the soul train dance line going.

"Do a little dance. Make a little love. Get down tonight!"

Anyone down for that? I'll bring some music and a sound system that should work at Moonrise, if I have power.

I hated disco music back in the 70's and it hasn't grown on me so I'll give up my swing at the moonrise that night and do my drinking at the main bar.
Peace, Bimmy
