Having a wedding at a Resort and letting them take care of everything REALLY is the way to go...not bad price either!

Where were the cenote pictures taken. I would have been chewed to bits by mosquitos...never fails when I'm there, but love those pics!

The wedding pictures are just beautiful, they are a precious couple. Did you guys make it to ABR for a day? We were there from the 3rd til the 13th. My daughter and her fiance had their engagement pics done while we were there. They went and looked at several places for their wedding but still have not made a decision. They are interested in the Barcelo but did not make it there to check it out. Was it awesome?

Kwing, it was sand

FinsUP, the cenote was at the Barcelo... Palace side, I didn't go so I didn't see it. We walked over there last yr but there was hardly Any water in it.

dfoster58, No we didn't make it to ABR

Sun. we met with the wedding planner, it rained all day Monday, Tues by time we ate breakfast and waiting in the lobby for our guest to arrive, most of the day was gone, same thing on Wed, Thurs day was the wedding, Fri had some shopping to do so we hardly had ANY beach time this yr

but it was still nice vacation

As far as the wedding it was BEAUTIFUL! Great price as well, couldn't have had all that back here in the states for the price. Photographer was kinda pricy tho. We had the wedding on the Barcelo carbibe side.

if you want me to go into more detail what all was included in our wedding plan just let me know and I'll be glad to post it to you

We spent a lot of time in the lobby with the wedding stuff but I REALLY enjoyed it there this time.....LOT LESS uhhhh rude ppl! I didn't have to shove anyone this yr

I REALLY like that place, even more now since our 2nd stay there. My husband is bored of it already so I don't know if I can talk him into going back, hopefully I can. My kids like it there too! Took my 20yr old daughter this time around, she found a group of girls she called her Possey (sp?) she hung out with all week AND of course a group of guys she hung out with all week as well. We met a lot of nice ppl this yr!!!

I met me a friend the last day of our stay in the pool, she was SO DRUNK, she told me she was do to depart that day & that her plane was leaving out in 2 hrs....not so sure she made it...she was so funny tho

My husband said he saw her leaving a hour later

..this is her

I know you'll have a GREAT time...I want to hear all about it when you come back

I'M a first timer there and I red a lot about the resort..seems to be great..

kids are going to see the Roo for the very first time!
I heard there is activities for people of all ages...
with a daughter of 20 and a son of 16...hope it is true cause they might complain all the week...LOL

amouRoo...ur kids are going to LOVE it!!! One of the nice things about Barcelo is that you have access to all of their connecting resorts. Lots of area to check out!

In the middle of them all is a small shopping/mall type area and right next to it is a club called I think the spelling is "Jaguar's" my daughter went there every night with friends she met at the resort. You can either walk all those places or there are always trains running to take you back and forth!

You also might want to check this place out (pic below). It's REALLY pretty! It's off to the side/back area of the Barcelo Palace. No body was over there, just us....don't think any of the other tourist knew about it, my husband found it by searching google earth before we left for our trip..he has found other coves at other resorts we have stayed at by doing google earth and no one else ever seems to know about them...

btw, there is a trail that goes to that cove. On our way there we went the HARD way around the beach with really sharp rocks, I wasn't to happy bout that part

We were at the Barcelo last Spring, loved it!
But I thought that back area was cordoned off when we were there.

After looking at the wedding pics I am so excited to get some details from you. It looks like a perfect fit for our group. Not to fancy but a step up from our ABR. We will have a very small group of people that will attend (maybe 25 at the most). The photographer did an awesome job, we will be contacting him. I would love to talk to you sometime about all the details.
