Wow! Glad they were able to get it done OK. Yes, I can & I have several times. Never fun, but I can do it! One time the SHP stopped & watched me. lol He did have his lights going so people slowed down & moved over.

Uh-oh. You might be sorry you asked.

I grew up in household full of mechanics. I can: change oil, change spark plugs, change air filters, change cabin filters, change batteries, change tires, charge batteries, jump batteries, etc. If I have the instructions, I'm willing to try most anything. And in my old 1965 Ford, I knew what to do when the butterfly stuck in the carburetor and it wouldn't start.

I hope Cammie made it to you safely! Tell her hi from a former Missouri gal!

My mom wouldn't let us drive unless we knew how to drive a stick, jump start a car, change a tire, check all fluids & tire pressure & change the oil. I had girl friends who's mothers didn't even know how to pump gas! I'll be making my daughter have the same rules.

Very good question. It has been a long time since I learned.Isn't that what fix a flat is for? lol :) I have that in my emergency kit. I have been lucky and been able to use road side service and my smile. I hope this doesn't jinx me I was just thinking today I need new tires.

Tire changing is a blue chore.

I would concur. But there are still many places in the USA that do not have cell phone coverage. What then? Cammie made a motion with her hand and the tongue on the inside of her mouth. I guess thats the only option huh? LOL! Kidding! KIDDING!

I'm lucky, I guess. I only drive alone within about 50 miles from our home and there is constant cell phone coverage. If I was going anywhere else, Mr Bonnie would be with me and would of course deal with the inconvenience.

Keeping in mind my helplessness in such a situation, Mr Bonnie and both of our sons would never pass by someone who needed assistance. And they would never accept payment either, no matter if they are changing a tire or winching someone out of the ditch. If they help you, pay it forward.

I, for one, am glad that some one recognizes blue chores from pink chores. Typically speaking, women are better dusters than i am, but when it comes to house repair, well, that's my blue chore.

The problem is just getting the lug nuts off when they have been applied with a machine at the tire store. You have to be Hercules, and it has nothing to do with your sex!

If you had to could you change a flat tire?

My response is ...HELL NO...I wouldn't want to risk breaking my girly nails on a dirty old tire!

It's ok to break out of limiting gender roles UH. Assigning tasks based on gender doesn't work for me. I hate dusting and changing tires equally!

My point was that if you are out of cell phone coverage and stuck with a flat tire, there are no colors for "chores". I want Cambria and her girls to know how to change a tire. It would make me rest easier.

Okay, I'll admit that I actually do dust. I also don't let anyone else do the windows, as I do a pretty good job of it and probably a better job than others. It's just getting me started on them ....

I won't be fixing flats anymore. Getting a new car, and it probably won't come with a spare - they are being phased out to help the vehicles fuel economy. Also, if I get a flat, living in a city it just isn't safe to pull over (no parking available) or try to fix it on a busy street. It'll be towed by my insurance carrier.
check out how many cars DON'T have spare tires:

LOVE LOVE cutting the grass. It's so perfectly sculpted and lush when we are getting rain here in Texas. The weedeating, edging and mowing. Definitely my favorite chore.

Don't forget trimming the hedges. I too love a nicely manicured lawn.

Very impressive ladies . Always good to know how to do a few minor repairs on your car. because you can bet that when you get a flat it will not be anywheres close to a garage and hopefully the road you are on at least has a shoulder to pull over onto. AH theres nothin like changing a tire with your butt hanging out in the middle of the road as big semi trucks are whipping by.
But if that doesnt work there is always MM's road side assistance only thing is you gotta have Wi Fi so you can e mail me for help

hey patty 1975 you lookin for a job

As a single guy, I find these colors very offensive. I like to think of anything around my house as a nice shade of brown. Especially when the dog leaves a pile in the middle of the den. :)

Unfortunately for me, in our house that would be a pink chore. :(

Don't be too hard on me, k? It's just how me and Mr Bonnie roll and its been working for 33 years come August. So far, so good.
