The Occidental is a WONDERFUL resort !!! It is a nice sized, plenty of room to get away from activites if you want, or join the action !!
The pools are awesome. The pool with the swimup bar is the best. My only dislike about the resort, was the beach. The beach area
is a lagoon...so not a true beach experience for beach lovers.

Ala Cartes were very good, service was excellent. We would definately go back. The Occidental is my husbands favorite choice
or resorts !!!

When we stayed there, they used to offer a pass to the Xcaret park....regardless or whether or not they still do....MAKE IT
a "TO DO" on your list of things to do !!

We really wanted to go back to ABR but price and friends going with us won out this time-maybe in December!

We were there last Sept., our 1st trip to the RM and our 1st all-inclusive. I have a trip report on the forum here. We enjoyed our stay---room was fantastic, comfortable, spotless, and quiet. Food overall was all right. We learned very quickly that not having a reservation can be overcome with a nice tip. Warning: restaurants are not air conditioned and were beastly hot. Best breakfast was at the open-air restaurant by the "beach" (it becomes the seafood restaurant at night...fabulous) and best lunch is at the open-air restaurant above the swim-up bar. Entire resort staff was very friendly....but avoid the time-share presentation. There is no beach, only a made-made inlet which is pretty, but not a beach. Let us know how it is!!
