We finally made it! We made it back to the condo after our day in the sun, and had flopped down, with intentions of eating leftovers, and doing nothing else. Thanks ot Mevose and Crunch who asked if we were ever going to go to QO, I got off my butt, hurried Bob along, and we walked on over.

The place is beautiful. There were only 5 tables, and they were all full, all the time we were there. Folks, this is the only place I have dressed up for, in the least, and I am glad. People were dressed casual, but nice. The service was good, the menu limited, but sufficient for all tastes.
There was a nice little breeze, and it was not hot back there as I suspected it might be.

We were brough a complimentary bruschetta. I ate it in spite of the bread, it was too good to pass up.
KRBN had the lasagna bolognese, and I had the spinach salad, topped with grilled chicken. I was not given an option for sald dressing, but it seemed to have some balsamic based, light something on it. We were also brought a little dish of what I thought was dressing. I tasted it, and threw some on my salad.

Everything was excellent. We ordered wine by the glass, but didn't have many options. Wite, or red. The red was a Cabernet from Chile, quite nice.

We ordered flan for dessert, honestly, not a big fan, but had to try it. It wasn't as creamy as I would have hoped, but we ate it anyway.

The price for both our meals was $120 pesos each. Wine by the glass was $50 pesos each. I think the flan was arond $65 pesos? Prices are more what you would find stateside, but a very good meal.

Mevose has offered to post pics of the food porn, so check back here for those. I emaied them to her a few minutes ago, so I am not sure when she will be able to do it, but it might be worth the wait.

Bien provecho!

Description of the types of sauce in order as they appear on the menu
Tomato sauce
Meat sauce
Cream sauce with bacon
With shrimp, I don't remember the full description but there is a pic
Slightly sweet tomato base with poblanos, mushrooms, and a hint of spicy
Cream with gorgonzola cheese
Spicy tomato, very spicy

What? No dogs in the kitchen? Is that only at Turtle Bay?

I am ecstatic to hear Que Onda is back and I thank you for taking the time to post the tantalizing photos.

I shall don my dress tank top for the next time we go there.

Thanks for the update as we usually took the 5 minute walk from the condo twice during our past stays. Looking forward to our return on 4/17..

Thanks, good to see the old favorite homemade pasta dishes on the short menu.
120 pesos, less than $10 is a good price for good homemade food. Are they still doing the
Ondarte project?

The Lasagne looks as good as ever.... Glad to see they are public again. Are they doing any other meals besides dinner?

They said three meals a day with Sundays off . They were too full for us to sit without a reservation tonight . They are only using the front half of the old set up . On a less promising note, the pescado in the fish dinner was basa .Those salads look godd for the wheat free folk though . Cheers

Berto said it was the best lasagna he has ever eaten, which is dangerous to say around me since I make a pretty mean lasagna. Poor guy he hasn't been getting regular pasta since I went GF I did taste, and I concur

The portion was bigger than the picture does it justice.

Everyone should know that RU's original report was from almost a year ago and that Que Onda restaurant is STILL ALIVE AND WELL and has been converted into a different type of property. An art colony I believe. Even a Whale gets to be wrong every once in a while.

Don't listen to what I say. Go see.

Whale, this is when it was an art colony. They are open, limited, but open...

Are you telling me, you missed it when you were there?

I am in the process of contacting my friend Whale, to get this corrected.

Until then... As a wise man once posted on his signature line

Yep I missed it. I drove by it but it must have been before it opened in the morning. Didn't look the same. Yes, I know, I now owe Janet a drink. Maybe one of those Cueva margaritas that did me in (again) last Wednesday, let's see how she can handle them.

No, a Whale fail is what happened at Cueva del P. Now, that was some Whale fail fall. Fell flatter than a flitter and fluttered like a fritter. And yes, I want to see you drink one or more of their margaritas. We'll change your name to rustanding.

I will be anxious to check it out next month. It was closed in Nov, and my meal in May was way less than stellar. Plus the small area and the bar on a table was not so appealing.
