A whole month in the Roo. Loved it. Started planning about 4 months out, trying to find a place to stay that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. (Maybe just an arm). We ended up back where we've stayed the past 3 years. Lol KaNa'ab. We really like having a ground floor unit. Easy in and out and makes me feel like we really LIVE there.

I think the thing I love most is waking up being beachfront. Waking up to watch each sunrise. Taking photos, photos, photos! Walking the beach looking for 'subjects' for my photos. The thing I REALLY love most: BEING THERE....and knowing I have all sorts of friends close by. Friends I wouldn't have met, if it wasn't for Loco Gringo!

Still uploading.....back with more soon...

Very nice!
Did the octopus ever come out any more? It's rare to even see that much during the day.
I think my fav are the pelicanos.

He came out a bit more but not much. I have tons of pelican pictures, they were very receptive to having their photos taken! These are the resident bird that hang around LBV and the shoreline immediately south of there on HMB.

(Still uploading more pics)....

I aspire to half the photographer that you are! Seven kinds of awesome. You must have a "way" with turtles. He's posed so well for you in the last photo.
Keep the posts coming. I'll never tire of your pictures!

How cool is that pic of the eagle ray? Just amazing.

Jan, I don't know how you do it, going to the dog rescue place. I'd have to take a roll of duct tape for my broken heart and at least two boxes of Kleenex. I've sent money, but I just can't face the eyes of those darling dogs when I'd have to say good-bye. Kudos

You are an extremely talented photographer. Those photos are brilliant, and you seem to have captured the true essence of where you are and how much you love it - looking forward to more uploads.

I can only hope my pictures from our trip next month will be half that good!

It's funny you say that because I typically can swim right out and there they are! I have a built in tortuga radar I think!

You know, I've been supporting Ricardo since before he opened TdA...I work closely with Lisa and him now on the Toronto front to get dogs escorts, transport, etc. I think in the past 6 months alone, I've given..........a lot of money... because it's something I believe in and nobody works better, or harder for those dogs than he does. It's amazing, and if anyone is a dog lover and wants to visit, please do! It was an hour and a half straight driving from Akumal. My mother passed away in mid December and on her behalf, the very next day, I made donations to my own local humane society, TdA, Coco's Cat Rescue, Cozumel Human Society, Akumal Library, Sick kids hospital and Ronald McDonald house. Animals and H.S.'s were very important to her, and it was done with her remembrance and love....so fulfilling to me as her daughter to be able to do that.

Enough.....

Okay more pictures coming up (and OH...I have 15 pics of that beautiful Eagle Ray! It was a brand new camera and I didn't know how to turn on the video, or I would have had video too....such a gift to witness him feeding close up!!)

Enjoy these, while I put more directly in the thread...

The lovely Soleil Sol and I!

I love the nights we cooked and 'ate in' instead of going out. Flashlight headband comes in real handy!

He's such a mooch, but I LOVED having him come by (Peluchim!)

CHARLIES in Tulum....GO THERE! LOVED IT!

Good food, good prices, great Mango Margs!!

Cool panorama taken at Charlies....

Valentines Day - first time in 2 weeks I'd put make up on!

These pics are Le Mezzanine (at night) and FOOD PORN!

Glenn actually took this one. About 5:35AM!! Reflection of the dawning in the patio doors!

From Sharoonie's place!

JACKFISH!! Fast bugger...first time I've seen one in Akumal Bay!

whew....more later............if you want to 'see' more

Thanks so much for your comments...I LOVE taking pics and I LOVE looking at them, so basically I take them, because it makes me happy. (Oh, and I just acquired camera #5 because it's got a GREAT ZOOM on it. Had to have it..sheesh, might as well say I'm 'collecting' them?

I spotted this conch shell and we weren't sure if it was 'vacant' or not...

Apparently it's a HOME, so we turned it right back over. No harm, no foul...carry on living the good life!

This time out....I spotted TWO BARRACUDAS! ....got lots of pics...and he was a BIGGUN!....mas...

One....BIG....single squid! I just LOVE them, they're so curious!....

He decided I wasn't a threat, and he wasn't angry at me anymore!

This was the night we got there! Badger, DirkTx and Jeanie, Kingfisher and Karen, Soleil Sol and Vandog - Happy Hour at Lol Ha

Lionfish Hunter - Gynna, Laura, Natalie and Ivan, Gynna's mom, and I don't know the other 2 guys....

Paamul, especially the ramp at the dive shop, is LOADED WITH IGGIES!!!!!

NOT CROPPED! This guy wasn't scared and wasn't moving...though I DID zoom in! lol

Uno, dos, tres!

PAAMUL BAY............LOVED IT! CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!

This should be MY PLACE...I WANT IT!!

You can come for the day, use the pool and the palapas and chairs for FREE. All are welcome! (The restaurant isn't bad either)

This is dawn - about 30 minutes BEFORE the sun comes up....

(I'm standing on the patio!)

Getting there.....

(playing with the filters)

here it comes!

Colours of the dawn were much more vibrant....

last one....

I lied...uno mas....

Thanks for the indulgence..............I have SO MANY MORE PICS.............if ya want to see them, I'll post links, but this is enough for now!
