Hi !!!!
Just found your message board a few days ago (a link on the Playa board). Looks like a great site. Looking forward to reading all the posts and getting to know everyone and getting some good info/tips on Akumal.

Same as Tappy - got the link from the Playa Board. Since I'll be going to ABR in Feb, I'll be reading up on this board quite a bit.

Already read quite a bit - great board!!

My name is Heidi. I am from Colorado as well, seems we have an abundance of LG's from CO. Two months ago the man of my dreams (Nick) asked me to marry him. So there you have it, I AM the bride-to-be!!!!

Nick and I are pretty set in getting married in Mexico and we have narrowed it down to The Riviera Maya. My side of the family does not seem too excited about this idea. I think I just need to get them on this site and see all the wonderful places with ideas in mind. I am half way there because Nick's side of the family is ALL FOR IT!!!! Almost like their bags are packed and they are waiting for the date. I would like to make it that simple for me. HELP!

So with that said, all you loco gringo's out there with ideas or know of resorts that preform great weddings, I am anxiously waiting to hear from you!!!

Glad to be a part of your wonderful clan!!!!!!

Hi,
I live in Colorado too (though I am originally from California). I empathize with your situation with your family not being enthusiastic about where you want to get married. I got married in Italy and a lot of people were pretty upset with me for choosing my favorite place in the world -- they were not supportive of me having my dream wedding! And you'd think they would have expected that I'd choose Italy -- I had been in love with the place for 15 years at the time of my engagement and had lived there & learned the language and continued to go back frequently-- so I didn't think people would be shocked about my choice of where to be married but some people acted like I was ruining their life -- and their reactions were a shock to me.

So I just wanted to say that I empathize and and I want to encourage you to HAVE YOUR DREAM WEDDING. It is YOUR DAY!!!!

This is a great site and easy to use. Last time we went to Mexico, I couldn't get my husband to look anything up on the internet (except of course fishing trip information). Once he found your site, he hasn't stopped reading.

Thanks guys! I LOVE this board -- if for nothing else than to fantasize, prepare, and reminisce about trips coming up or those that have gone before. It's ALL good!

You will likely get some response if you start a new thread on this topic (instead of burying it in this "Welcome all Loco's" thread). And give your thread a name that means something to people, such as "Azul Beach" or "Azul Beach/Puerto Morelos", etc. Don't call it "Looking for Info" etc. That will also make it easier for others in future to use the search function on the forum to call up the thread/info.

Good luck - sorry I can't help you with specifics on what you're looking for.

Chris

I have been on lots of forums, most end up as gripe sessions. This is a great group of people with one purpose in mind. To enjoy life and share experiences and to meet people...luv ya all!
