Hello!
I feel bad that I am finally posting this two years past our trip, but I wanted everyone to know what I wonderful time we had at EDSS.  We went in September 2007 for our honeymoon and it couldn't have been better. The staff was attentive, and friendly. The food was good for an all inclusive, and the restaurants had a nice atmosphere. The grounds were keep neat and clean as were the rooms.  We went 3 weeks after Hurricane Dean hit.

My one strong suggestion would be not to spend the money on a swim up suite. They are behind the beach row of rooms so you have no view, and there are two other pools on the property with swim up bars to utilize. Rooms 28-34 are the best! I recommend the 2nd floors. The website has a great map of the entire property.

Please feel free to email me with any questions, I am more than happy to answer.

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you pick EDSS.

Happy Travels!

EDSS shares a beach with the Palladium....there is a long undeveloped portion of beach between each resort.  They have sadly had to put up sand whales to conserve the beach at this resort...the portion of beach at the EDSS is very small and narrow.

Two years later. Crunch, the crown must now be passed along. Sorry.

Gracias for the report!

Well that was a pretty crappy trip report huh?

I am now a little wiser to how and what an actual trip report is. So with that said... I will work on doing a trip report, or at least some pictures to make up for my trip report indiscretion.

So, please forgive me... I will do my best to remember after 5 years and a baby! :)

So as soon as I can get my pictures to fit size wise I will continue..

Thanks!!

So this was my first trip out of the country and into anything other than the United States. We made it through the gauntlet at the airport and successfully found our transfer to Eldorado Seaside Suites.

So here was our room. I do remember that we requested 2nd Floor Ocean Front and upon arrival they didn't have it available. So for ONCE I was patient and told them that we could wait if they had one. They did. So after our welcome drink of champagne we went to the beachside bar and had a drink while we waited for the room to be arranged.

.

I obviously was VERY excited for the bed. (It was SUPER comfy I remember that...)

They even drew a bath for us...

Then it was on to dinner. I remember shrimp and risotto was involved...

OK, That is it for the first day, more to come!! :)

I like your recommendation about not booking the swim up suites....in fact, I think I learned a valuable lesson in past experiences; that at the time of booking, I just book the most basic room and SEE what they give me when I get there (it may end up a free upgrade, who knows?). Anywho.....if I see the room and an alternative for a better view, etc then I will assess at that time. Kind of fun, actually. Also, I have a friend in our Guadalajara office/work that is teaching me how to ask for a free upgrade. Please understand that my plan is to slip a $20 in the persons hand when I say this:

'Quisiera tener una mejor habitacion, con la mejor vista que me pueda ofrecer" and then you still need to give him the $20 LOL
