Just found and registered for this site. Fantastic! Was wondering, from Maryland, how to find out what was going on at the Akumal Beach Resort. We spent a wonderful week there last Thanksgiving, and had planned on giving our travel agent $5,000 last Friday for another Thanksgiving week this year. Got busy and weren't able to make the arrangements. Now we want to know what's going on with this special place. Was able to get some incredible information from this site. Thanks! Hopefully, we'll be back at Thanksgiving again this year.

Glad to be a "newbie" and proud to be a member!

I've lurked for a few years, and the info on the site was always awesome, but post-Emily, I swear
this board has had more info than any North American newsstation (and much more accurate I must say)....a testament to the dedication & affection that the members here have for the Costa Maya.

You guys totally rock!

I'm so excited to finally take the plunge and jump in instead of "lurking" for the past year. Just not overly computer literate but managing ok so far. Hope to be talking to many of you LG's that I feel like I sort of know a bit already! Stayed at the EDSS resort this past Feb...amazing!!!! Just booked for next Feb at the ABR! Was so much good stuff on here about this place and all of the roo of course, just hope the front desk staff are a bit more aware of how they may have affected the popularity of this place after Emily and IM's experience with them. I's still very pumped though about ABR!

thank you all for this wonderful site. My wife and I will be at palladium in two and a half weeks and the info gathered here has become invaluable!!! if not for this site we most likely would not be going this time.

I'm getting on the band wagon just to say very cool site I have looked at others and keep coming back to this one "I liked it so much I joined".
All the info can be over whelming at times, but with everyone being so friendly and helpful the info I need comes through LOUD and CLEAR[:)] And maybe one day it will be my turn to offer some helpful advice

What a great site. I wish I would have found it last year when I was planning our honeymoon. I have learned so much from this site and the wonderful people who are active contributors. We are headed back for Thanksgiving this year, and while we are saddened to see the destruction of Emily, we are looking forward to just spending the time in Paradise relaxing and taking in the beauty of the Riviera Maya.

Keep up the good work with this site!

absolutely agree with everyone! This site is awesome. I was seriously thinking of cancelling our hol to BPT on Aug 19 after Emily. I have found up to date accounts of damage, etc and have decided to stick with it! Cannot wait....18 days to go til we have 3 weeks in paradise. Yeeeeehaaaaaa!!

I have used this site extensively since emily and found all the "from the scene" posts
very helpful, as well as recent pics. Love Akumal, visit twice a year for ten years now.
Next visit in November, can't wait!

I agree, the web-site is a great place for information to plan the next trip. It's also very intertaining "Maggie".

I agree its a great site with lots of info, and i am working towards my cooler for my upcoming trip just need to get the fiance on here to work towards a cooler without her finding out about the upcoming trip....mmmm thats gonna be a tough one.

You are all Awesome!!!l. I have to admit I found this site after Emily struck. Mainly to find the status of the resort my Fiance and I are going to on our honeymoon. Now I am hooked. I find myself checking it daily...not necessarily posting but just reading. Everyone has so much information to offer. I have been to Cancun but never the Riviera. So much to do but want to go about it the right way. Things seem to cost so much more when you look and act like a tourist.
