Don't miss the Akumal Beach Live Webcam. It is a live image with the temperature and humidity in Akumal right now. (Remember it's dark there at night). It is located on the Northeast corner of the Lol Ha Restaurant and currently looks East-Southeast across Akumal Bay. The picture updates every 10 seconds (depending on connection speed and traffic).

If you are new to the LocoGringo Forums here is some additional information you may find helpful. Welcome to LocoGringo and have a great time. You will probably soon be addicted like the rest of us.

1. Don't be afraid to register, it's easy and LocoGringo won't put you on any spam lists. If you register you can ask questions (post) on the forums, if you don't register you can only read the posts of others. (Registered or not, you can always send a question or request about booking a property to LocoGringo here.)

2. Most any word you see in blue is a "link" and clicking on it will take you somewhere, clicking your back button will take you back if you get lost.

3. There are 6 different Forums. Go here for the list of them and a description of what is in each forum.

4. At the top of each forum message board you will notice many links to useful information. Click on them and see where they take you. You can always use your back button to get back here.

5. One of the links at the top is "Search". This will help you find the answers to your questions in the forums. When using Search, be fairly general in your terms "Yal Ku Turtles" brings up over 150 responses while Yal Ku turtles and eels brings up only 4. You don't want or need to use complete sentences in your search.

6. LocoGringo.com is owned and operated by Kay and Gary Walten, you will see them referred to on the forums as Kay and Gary. They are booking agents for Houses, Condos, Hotels and Resorts in the Riviera Maya. These forums are a part of the main LocoGringo website and are given to us free of charge by Kay and Gary to help answer questions about the Riviera Maya, and also to have a little fun with each other. Please use LocoGringo to do research for your trip and consider booking it through our hosts Kay and Gary. They are great people who actually live in the Riviera Maya and give some of the best customer service in the industry.

7. You will notice that many people post pictures, have avatars (the little pictures under their names) make links to other messages and do other fun things. There are instructions to do all of this in the forums but the best way to find out is to ask a question on one of the threads (a string of messages on the same topic). Don't be afraid to ask, we were all newbies at one point. You will find a bunch of friendly, helpful people on LocoGringo who will be glad to impart their wisdom on such matters.

8. Both Forum Subscription and Thread Subscription notification have been disabled in the My Profile area. You can check the boxes but they won't do anything.
